BRIDGE WOOD SOUTH, BURRINGTON
Taw Valley, Devon - 4 acres
SOLD
|
|

This woodland is
traditional oak coppice, with a hazel understorey. Bluebells carpet
the wood in spring, and it is next to the River Taw, a haunt of
otters, and excellent salmon fishing (rights not included). Other
species of tree are scattered through the wood, including ash,
sycamore, birch and holly. The woodland is on the ancient woodland
register, with unbroken woodland cover back to 1600 and probably
since the retreat of the last Ice Age.
The woodland has easy
access from a minor road running along the western edge. A new
track is being installed for management purposes, and gives easy
access through the wood, and to a glade. There is a restrictive
covenant to prevent off-road rallying.
